ABOUT MAHU MUTTS...
OUR APPROACH
Mahu Mutts takes a completely force-free approach to working with dogs. This means that we encourage, reinforce and reward behaviour we are looking to bring out in the dog and we remove privileges and triggers so the dog makes smarter choices. Reward based positive reinforcement makes training a mutually enjoyable experience and builds trust between you and your dog. We see ourselves as deeply connected to our community and doing what we can in supporting local people and their furry friends. We are committed to helping the rescues of the Wairarapa which is why we offer free walks and training for local foster dogs and their fosterers. Keep updated with our regular community outreach on our facebook page.
LIBBY WORKMAN
AKA LIPPY
Libby’s passion for dogs began as many peoples do, with having her own dog. Bonding with and training Xena started Libby on the pathway to pursuing more knowledge about dog behaviour and evidence-based training techniques. Originally based in Auckland, Libby founded Mahu Mutts IN 2021 with a focus on dog enrichment and pack walking. This provided an environment to enhance her own knowledge of dogs and their needs as well as the people that care for them.Libby relocated to the Wairarapa with her wife and two dogs in 2024 and relaunched Mahu Mutts with a broader, more flexible range of services.
Libby has an exceptional and innate understanding of dogs with a unique ability to support you in a, down to earth, jargon-free way to have the best experience possible with your canine best friend.
AMY ROSS

Passionate about dogs and animal welfare, Amy has benefited first hand from Libby’s expertise with dogs. Amy is supporting Mahu Mutts in the background with planning, organising and communications to allow Libby more time to do the really important mahi of getting the best from your dog.
